Psalm 63

Today is a fast day. Like last week, I woke with a headache. Unlike last week, I still have the headache and am really hungry right now...and it is only 9:32am. This morning, I decided to bring my bible to work with me and keep it next to me on my desk so that I could tangibly feast on the word (as opposed to looking at a slip of paper with scripture on it or looking up a verse on the computer). Just now, I was feeling weak and hungry and decided to open the bible around where I thought Psalms would be. I landed on Psalm 63:

My Soul Thirsts for You
1O God, you are my God;
earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you;my flesh faints for
you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no

2So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding
your power and glory.

3Because your steadfast love is better than life, my
lips will praise you.

4So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I
will lift up my hands.

5My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich
food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful

6when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the
watches of the night;

7for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings
I will sing for joy.

8My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds

Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and steadfast love toward the children of men!

  1. You are such an encouragement to me! You inspire me everytime I come seek after more...for the real deal...May God give you strength today as you solidify the truth that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord!

  2. That was a blessing, Tina! You'll never know how timely that Psalm was! Truly, the LORD is the ultimate satisfier of our life, no matter what difficulty or circumstance we are facing. He has been teaching me lately that the reason He brings me through difficult times is not necessarily for the purpose of giving me more "knowledge" on how to handle life's problems, but so that I may realize His all-sufficiency in every area. It is HIM He wants me to seek after, and how much more beautiful He becomes when I truly make that my aim instead of the "things" I think will fix my difficulties.

    Anyway, don't know if that made any sense or not. I'll quit rambling! :-)

    Blessings on your day!
