God can make the sun rise in the west if He pleases, and make the source of distress the channel of delight.

Amen!! What an encouragement! One thing I have been challenged with lately is concept of not merely surviving in the deserts and famines of life, but thriving!!!
There are times I actually long for a bit more hardship and trials in my life, just for the way it throws me in desperation on God. Though never, ever easy, I have learned again and again that when I am at my weakest, He truly is at His strongest. When I am starving, and honestly don't know how I'm going to survive any longer, there is still corn in Egypt. What a neat analogy. Thank you for sharing that! That's one I'll be chewing on for a long time!

I'll be praying for you, Tina! We recently went through a rough patch - between our tithe, building fund, IRS/SS debt, and the normal IRS/State/SS taxes, we are reduced to living on only 30% of my husband's paycheck. Last payday we had enough money to pay the mortgage and nothing else. Some food in the freezer, but not two weeks worth, and no money to pick up prescriptions that were really needed.

But God provided some corn from a really unexpected source - and it was more than enough to carry us the two weeks. I often pray "I believe! Help my unbelief!" along with this paraphrase: "I love you! Help me love you more!" And He has come through every time. I know He will for you, too. Hold fast to Luke 11:9. And know that I'll be lifting you up daily. :-)
much love,
LauraLaurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09047338408657177844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3487833747049757339.post-67459553387576832202007-05-10T07:08:00.000-05:002007-05-10T07:08:00.000-05:00Andrea, Laura...thank you so much for your encoura...Andrea, Laura...thank you so much for your encouragement and promise of prayer.
